Surprise Wedding

Over this past weekend, U.S soccer player Abby Wambach got married. She got married to fellow NY Flash team mate Sarah Huffman. This comes as a surprise to most people because their relationship was kept on the down low. A lot of people assumed Wambach was a lesbian but nothing was confirmed until this past weekend when they announced their wedding. This was not a surprise however to the U.S. women’s soccer team because they all gathered in Hawaii this past weekend for the wedding. I’m not sure how this news will affect Wambach’s life or the U.S women’s soccer team. I personally don’t think anything will change because most people already saw Wambach as a lesbian and they were kind of just waiting for the day that she would come out. To me it doesn’t matter what sexuality she is because all i care about is how good she is at soccer. This news may make some people not like Wambach anymore because some people believe in only male/female marriage. Either way, this doesn’t change how good she is at soccer and that’s the only thing you should really care about if you are a big fan of hers. Her fellow team mates are very happy for her and Sarah and they enjoyed their stay all together in Hawaii. Would this new change in Wambach’s life change your opinion about her? How much does it really matter what her sexuality is if she is famous for playing soccer?
