Anti-Doping Agencies in Cycling

It’s appalling to think there are athletes who have gotten away with cheating as long as Lance Armstrong has, and also that there were people to back him up in the allegations of blood doping. In a recent article called “Anti-Doping Agency expose Armstrong, But What About Others?”, it talks about how there were other names in the official report, but they were blacked out as not to expose them.  In effort to reach the goal of “dismantling the doping that has corrupted a sport for decades”, the current president, Pat Mcquaid was fired and replaced.  Mcquaid was hindering the Armstrong investigation every chance he could, which was a problem for the Anti-doping Agency.

I think that there should be no second chances for cheating in sports.  There is blood doping and other performance enhancing drugs being  use in all sports, and I think it’s absolutely wrong.  There is no excuse for being caught, and there should be no reason at all to cheat in the first place. It is harmful to the athletes body, and harmful to society as w whole, making people thing they can do anything in order to win, basically, the ends justify the means.  It is understandable that athletes are competitive and want to win, but cheating is not a necessary step in a fair winning process.  In  to today’s society, enhancing drugs are almost expected in professional sports, which is unacceptable.  Personally, I could not cheat and accept winning.  For someone to pull off this task, they must have no conscious, or just care more about winning, money, and fame than anything. Like said before, there should be no second chances for cheating, one time and you’re done, that’s my opinion. I now think of Lance Armstrong as a cheater, liar, and in general an awful person, was it really worth it in the end?
