NCAA’s New Hand-Check Rule

In June the NCAA issued a new rule that there will a larger enforcement on hand-checking and the block-charge call. Many coaches around the league have considered this to be “The most dramatic changes in the sport in many years.”  Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger’s predicts that in the games that are held in the beginning of the season you can expect “tons of fouls, a lot of free throws, long, ugly games. Hopefully fans can prepare for that. It is going to be frustrating.”

Through reading through the article you can begin to see that many coaches are upset with the new rule and how much its going to change the game. With the new rule the games are going to be extremely closer as well as the amount of foul shots that will occur during a game.

For me personally I already don’t care for watching basketball. With this new rule that has been implemented my tolerance for the sport is going to grow thin and cause me to no longer watch it. Hopefully the NCAA realizes that the rule will cause fans to no longer find enjoyment in the sport that consists of free-throws for four quarters.
